Description

This outbuilding, located immediately west of Froxton Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and was used as a shippon or stables with a hay-loft above. It is constructed from freestone rubble and features a rag slate roof with a half-hipped south end. The south end includes a stable door on the ground floor and a left door above. The inner walls of the loft are plastered. The outbuilding is connected to the farmhouse by a short section of slate stone wall, which has a slated canopy over the gateway. It is illustrated in the Spoure Book, and is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
