Description
The cross in the churchyard, located about 5 metres west of the tower of the Church of St Nivet in Lanivet, is a Grade II* listed structure. This cross is likely from before the Conquest and is made of granite. It features a wheelhead design, with a monolithic shaft that stands approximately 3 metres high. The shaft is rectangular and tapered, adorned with interlacings and foliage scrolls on all four sides. The wheelhead displays a carved Latin cross at its centre, surrounded by a raised circle and four holes along the outer rim, with carvings on both the front and back. It is designated as ancient monument number 386.
