Description
Morval War Memorial is a granite wheel cross located by the roadside of the A387, approximately 70 meters southeast of the Memorial Hall and Old School House, which is also a Grade II-listed building. The memorial features a tall wheel-head cross made of granite, adorned with interlace patterns carved in low relief on the cross head. It stands on a square plinth with a single stepped base.
Two faces of the plinth have inset panels with inscriptions in applied metal lettering. The front panel commemorates the brave men of Morval who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War from 1914 to 1918, listing seven names. The right face includes a later inscription for the Second World War, acknowledging four names from 1939 to 1945.
