Description
The barns located 10 metres to the north of Trewane are a range that likely originally included a shippon, stable, and cartsheds. They probably date from the early 19th century, with the left-hand side incorporating several reused pieces of dressed granite, including mullions, cills, and lintels. The right-hand range is from the mid to late 19th century. The structure is built of slatestone rubble and features rag slate roofs. The left range has a hipped end, while the central range has a lower roof, and the right range has a higher roof with a gable end on the left and a hipped end on the right. The barns have a rectangular plan, with an entrance in the gable end of the left range and a ventilation slit on the front elevation of the left range. The openings in the central and right-hand ranges have been slightly altered. Inside, there is a roof structure from the mid to late 19th century. This range is an important feature at the rear of Trewane.
