Description

Pudners is a house that may date back to the 17th century, with remodelling and additions from the early 19th century. It is built from stone rubble and has a slate roof, featuring a gable at the left end, which is slate hung. There is a large chamfered stone chimney stack on the left gable end and another one axial to the right wing. The main range and the right projecting wing were originally single depth but were extended by a two-storey rear outshut in the 19th century.

The house has two storeys and a front with two windows on the left and one window on the right, all under two gables. The central entrance features a nine-panel door beneath a 19th-century slated canopy supported by brackets. The ground floor windows on either side of the entrance are tall four-light windows with thin mullions beside the centre, adorned with marginal leading, stone voussoirs, and hood moulds. The three first-floor windows are 19th-century 24-pane hornless sashes set in exposed sash boxes, also below stone voussoirs and hood moulds. Above each gable, there are blind medallions that likely date from the 17th century.

A 19th-century bell is housed in a frame beneath a small pyramid roof above the outshut. Additionally, there are 19th-century cast iron railings to the front left of the wall leading to the entrance gates. The house is said to have been remodelled in 1810, although the current exterior appears to be from the 1840s. The interior has not been thoroughly inspected, but the kitchen under the rear left lean-to contains an early coal-burning oven.
