Description

Albert Cottage is a house dated 1846, located on British Road in Bedminster, Bristol. It is a double-depth plan building with a basement and attic, presenting a symmetrical two-window front. The walls are rendered, and the roof is not visible. A rectangular overlight is above the centrally positioned front door, which is sheltered by a moulded flat canopy supported on consoles. A torus cornice runs along the front, with a late 19th-century attic set beneath a parapet. Late 20th-century windows are recessed within segmental panels. Two small attic windows are also present. A plaque above the door reads "ALBERT TERRACE/1846," and another to the right of the door commemorates "GLADYS WITHROW/TEACHER OF/PIANOFORTE/THEORY AND/PRACTICE." A blocked doorway exists on the left-hand side, mirroring the design of the front door’s canopy. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
