Description
Number 73 is an attached house located on the north side of Queen Square in Bristol, built around 1833. It features a stucco exterior with limestone dressings, a rendered return, and a slate mansard roof. The house has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement, and a two-window range.
Architectural details include panelled pilasters supporting a frieze, cornice, and parapet, along with a coped side gable. The doorway on the right return has panelled jambs and consoles beneath a pediment, with an overlight featuring glazing bars and a six-panel door. The windows are architraved 6/6-pane sashes, and the first-floor has console cornices above French windows with margin bars, complemented by wrought-iron lattice balconies with cast-iron details.
The interior was remodelled around 1970. Additionally, there are attached front area railings. The north side of Queen Square was rebuilt following the Reform Bill riots of 1831.
