Description
Brandon Cottage is an attached house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It features a render and roughcast exterior with limestone dressings, ridge stacks, and a hipped pantile mansard roof sloping to the left. The building has a double-depth plan and is designed in the Gothick style, consisting of two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a three-window range. The symmetrical front has pilaster strips leading up to a moulded coping that ramps to the right. The door and windows are adorned with ogee-headed surrounds, with the doorway featuring imposts, a key, an interlacing fanlight, and a six-panel door. The windows have interlacing heads and contain three-over-six pane sashes. There are three 20th-century dormers, and a panel above the door is inscribed "BRANDON COTTAGE." Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have a left-hand stair against the front windows. Additionally, there is an attached Pennant rubble wall with a pointed-arched doorway that has a key and imposts, extending approximately 20 meters to the northeast.
