Description

The Gateway of Greystone Lodge, dating from around 1860, is located on Goodeve Road in Sneyd Park, Bristol. This structure features piers and gates made of Pennant and Carboniferous limestone rubble, complemented by cast- and wrought-iron gates. The gateway consists of a pair of large square piers with battered limestone bases and crenellated ashlar tops. The ornate double gates are decorated with leaf, cone, and bud motifs, and have raised center sections. This gateway was originally built as the entrance lodge to Cook's Folly House.
