Description
Oakleigh is a house located on Bath Road in Brislington, dating from the early 19th century, with later 19th-century bay windows. The building features stucco with ashlar dressings, rendered sides, gable stacks, and a slate double-pile roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window range. Clasping pilasters rise to the cornice and parapet. The central doorway is flanked by fluted Tuscan pilasters and topped with a simple entablature; it contains a two-leaf, four-panel door and a rectangular overlight with four round glazing bars. The canted bays have plate-glass sashes separated by thick, panelled mullions, while the first-floor windows are six-over-six pane sashes with fine bars. The right-hand return features a first-floor three-window range, with the outer windows blocked and a narrow tripartite window with margin bars in the middle, along with a large late 19th-century conservatory below. There is also a two-storey single-window extension slightly set back on the left, which has six-over-six pane sashes and a 20th-century door case. The interior has not been inspected.
