Description

This is an early to mid-19th century house in the Greek Revival style. It is stucco-faced with an interlocking tile mansard roof and follows a double-depth plan. The house is two storeys high with a basement and attic, and has a three-window front. The symmetrical front features banded rustication on the ground floor, recessed pilaster corner strips, a cornice, a panelled parapet and a moulded coping. Steps lead to a three-panel door with a rectangular overlight featuring diagonal glazing bars, set within a recess. French windows flank the door, sheltered by a full-width verandah supported by deep arched brackets. The first floor is divided into three rectangular recesses with casement windows. The interior remains uninspected. The front area is raised, with cast-iron railings and panelled piers marking the central steps and the ends of the property. This detail adds to the group value of the building.
