Description

No. 44 Park Street is an attached house that has been converted into a shop. It was built in 1762 and completed around 1800 by architect Thomas Paty. The building is made of limestone ashlar and features party wall stacks and a pantile mansard roof. It is designed in the late Georgian style and consists of three storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range. The façade has pilasters supporting an overlapping cornice that extends from the adjacent buildings, topped by a parapet. The shop front is from the 20th century, while above it are 6/6-pane sash windows and a full-width dormer. The interior has not been inspected. This building is one of the few original houses remaining on Park Street after significant bomb damage in 1941.
