Description

No. 82 Park Street is an attached house that has been converted into a shop. It was originally built from 1762, completed around 1800, and refronted around 1880 by the architect Thomas Paty. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and features party wall stacks along with a pantile mansard roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with an attic, displaying a two-window range.

The façade includes pilasters leading up to a cornice and parapet. The 19th-century shop front features a marble plinth, Ionic pilasters that support a cornice with a central segmental pediment, and plate-glass windows that curve towards the central doorway. The first-floor windows are distinguished by an impost band, rounded corners, a raised cornice, and a raised central segmental pediment. The second-floor windows have sill and impost bands, with keys positioned below a segmental hood. The building also has plate-glass sashes and paired dormers.

The interior has not been inspected. Park Street was developed over a period of about 40 years and was severely damaged around 1940, leading to much of it being rebuilt in a similar style after the war.
