Description

A pair of attached houses located on St Pauls Road, Clifton, dating from around 1850. The houses are built of limestone ashlar with rendered sides, a shared party wall stack, and a slate hipped roof. They are arranged with a double-depth plan over three storeys and a basement, and have a three-window front. The entrance blocks are rendered and set back, with later porches added. No. 46 features columns in front of a recessed doorway and a right-hand window with a console cornice. No. 48 has moulded jambs to the doorway. The ashlar front displays architraves to the windows, console cornices to the ground and first floors, and plate-glass sash windows, with plain outer windows. The interior has not been inspected. The building demonstrates group value by virtue of its architectural style and contribution to the streetscape.
