Description
No. 12 Victoria Street is a shop built around 1875. It features a combination of limestone ashlar and a brick stack, with a roof that is not visible. The building stands three storeys high and has a four-window range with a double-depth plan. The ground floor is rusticated and includes two large semicircular arches with radial voussoirs. The left arch serves as a vehicle entrance and has Pennant wheel stops and 19th-century framed doors, while the right arch contains a 20th-century shop front. The upper storeys are smooth-faced and are topped with a cornice and parapet that has sunken panels. The first floor has small rectangular windows, and the second floor features semicircular-arched windows with scrolled keys and sunken panel aprons. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of a group of Victorian commercial structures that were developed following the cutting of Victoria Street in 1872.
