Description
The structure consists of walls, gates, and railings surrounding the Strangers' Burial Ground, which was opened in 1787. It features red Pennant rubble walls, Pennant stone piers, and wrought-iron railings and gates. The wall is approximately 30 meters long and includes a central section flanked by square piers, with spear-headed railings and two-leaf gates. Historically, this burial ground served as an overflow cemetery for St Paul's, Clifton, which has since been demolished, and it was frequently used by visitors to the Hotwells. The burial ground was closed in 1871.
