Description
14 Wharncliffe Road is a well-preserved picturesque villa built around 1875, likely designed by architect R W Edis for the Drummond Wolff estate. The villa is constructed in red brick and features tile-hanging in the Norman Shaw style. It has two storeys with dormers and showcases tiles in three different patterns, along with white-painted timber bargeboards.
On the west side facing the road, there is a prominent first-floor gable supported by brackets above ground floor canted bay windows, which are adjacent to a lean-to with pargetted panels in a half-gable and a porch on open timber brackets. The south front, which faces the garden, includes two large tile-hung dormers, one positioned above a two-storey canted bay, and a lean-to conservatory that features stained glass lunettes above the door. The chimneys are tall but have been altered at the top.
