Description
A warehouse, dating to the late 18th century, and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries, now used as shops and some accommodation. The building is constructed of brick in English bond, with glazed headers, and is painted at the front. It has a tiled roof, with a steeper pitch on the right-hand section and stone slate verges. The warehouse is three storeys high with an 11-window range and a canted corner on the right-hand side. It features stepped cogged eaves. The shop fronts include pilasters, panelled gableted brackets flanking the fascias, and varied 20th-century glazing. Segmental-arched first-floor windows are mostly 20th-century three-light plate-glass casements, with a small rectangular window to the left end. The interior includes heavy timber floors with a lateral beam on posts with pillows, and a roof with two purlin registers and diagonal wind braces. The building is divided internally by masonry walls and contains ladder stairs. It formerly served as the warehouse for Belpen's Mill on the Quay.
