Description
The Rectory is a building constructed between 1849 and 1851 by S.C. Fripp of Bristol. It is made of rubble with Bath stone quoins and dressings, topped by a slate roof featuring stepped end gables and bracketed eaves. The building has a plain Gothic style with rubble stacks and is irregularly designed over two storeys. It has four bays, with the outer bays slightly advanced and finished with gables, while the left-centre bay is also advanced but lacks a gable. The large windows have mullions and transoms with ovolo moulded surrounds, and there is a 2-light window with chamfered mullions and 4-centre heads that illuminates the staircase. A projecting gabled porch features a doorway in a chamfered surround with a 4-centre head, a shield in the apex, and a single light window beneath the stepped gable above the porch.
