Description
Bell Farmhouse is a building that dates from the late 15th century to the 16th century and has been altered in the 18th century. It may have originally served as a chantry or priest's house before becoming a farmhouse and previously functioning as an inn. The structure is made of coursed rubble with freestone quoins and dressings, topped with a double Roman tiled roof featuring coped raised verges. It has two storeys and attics with catslide dormers. The façade includes three casement windows with two and three lights, all fitted with glazing bars. The central entrance features a studded plank door set within an ogee-step-hollow moulded and four-centre headed ashlar surround, topped by a semi-circular hood supported by brackets. On the east gable end, there is a blocked three-light window with cinquefoil heads and enriched spandrels.
