Description
The Three Shire Stones, located at the National Grid Reference ST 7960 7001, are a boundary marker designed to resemble a megalith. They were erected in 1859 but include an earlier marker made of three small stones that were placed in 1736. The structure consists of three large, coarsely cut stone uprights that support a horizontal slab of similar material.
