Description
120 and 122 Walcot Street is a shop with accommodation above, built in the late 18th century, with 20th-century additions. The building is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a hipped slate roof with dormers at the front and one on the left side, with no visible stacks. It has a double depth plan and stands three storeys tall with an attic. The front has two windows and a slightly canted left corner. The building has a returned coped parapet, a stopped coved cornice, and six-over-six pane sash windows. The shopfront has been restored, with two windows on the first floor of the left return, one window to the left of the ground floor, and a 20th-century door to the right. The interior has not been inspected. This building was constructed in front of a row from the mid-1760s that connected Chatham Row and Gibbs's Court, representing the infilling of open space as the area became more densely developed during the later Georgian period.
