Description
Ashcombe House, the west part only, is a detached house in the Gothick style, built in the early 19th century and altered later in the 19th century. It features ashlar and coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings, hipped slate roofs, and ashlar stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays in the central section. The ground floor includes canted bays with ogee-headed glazing, with the left bay now having a central door, and a central chamfered and arched doorway that has been converted into a window; all are under dripmoulds. The first floor has two-light casement windows set in hollow chamfered and arch-headed surrounds. To the left, there is a single-storey bay with a large French window beneath a dripmould. To the right, a two-storey bay features an embattled parapet and two-light casement windows similar to those on the first floor of the central section.
