Description

The Lansdown monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of Holy Trinity, positioned 1 metre north of the nave. It dates from the late 18th century, with the earliest inscription dating to 1788. The tomb is made of limestone and features raised and fielded panels on each side, with a central festooned pilaster and foliage on the angle pilasters. The entablature is adorned with a frieze of paterae, and the slab is coved. The inscriptions, which are in capital letters, have eroded over time and commemorate Thomas Lansdown and members of his family.
