Description
This granary, located about 15 meters east of Church Farm, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and was reroofed in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of freestone and brick, with a pantile roof and a timber frame. The building is an oblong, single-room granary set on saddlestones, featuring three rows of four openings accessed by a flight of five stone steps on the north side. The timber cill piece supports Flemish bond walls, which have two windows on each long side and one on the south side. All windows are now glazed and equipped with stays and shutters. There is a plank door on the north side with a chamfered lintel, and the roof is pyramid-shaped. Inside, the granary has a horizontal plank dado, and the tie of the former truss is chamfered with scroll stops, supporting a strutted king post roof above.
