Description
The tomb of Lieutenant General George Preston, who died in 1795, is located in the Church of All Saints Churchyard. It is made of Bath stone and features marble inscription panels. The monument is situated to the north of the nave and consists of a rectangular plinth with a moulded base and cornice. Each side of the plinth has an oval marble panel, and it is topped with a heavy pyramidal structure. This tomb is noted for its austere neo-classical design and is marked as number 62 on the churchyard plan. Preston was associated with the Royal North British Dragoons, also known as the Scots Greys.
