Description
130 Kelston Road is a Grade II listed building in Bath that features a single depth plan, although rear extensions make it partly double depth. The house is constructed from coursed squared rubble with ashlar dressings and has a double Roman tile roof. It began as a small picturesque cottage in the 17th century Cotswold style and was extended by a single bay to the west, with further extensions to the west and rear occurring in the 1870s and 1880s.
The exterior of the house is two storeys high, with the main front facing south and featuring three windows. The left-hand window in the extension has paired six-over-six sash windows with a stone mullion above a single six-over-six sash. The centre bay contains a plain sash window on both floors, with a casement window featuring a drip mould in the gabled dormer above. The doorway, which is central to the original cottage, has a panelled part-glazed door. The right-hand bay features a canted bay with plain sashes that rise to conceal a surviving window in the attic dormer. The original cottage has an ashlar stack with weathering at both ends of the ridge, and an additional stack has been added alongside it on the left. The rear part of the house, dating from the late 19th century, has plain sash windows and includes a small, single-storey extension that appears to be from the early 20th century, featuring timber casements.
The interior has not been inspected.
