Description
Avonstone is a house built in the early 19th century and remodeled in the late 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone with a roof that is concealed behind a parapet. The building has three storeys and a basement, along with two-storey and basement wings that are set back. It features four bays and has glazing bar sash windows, as well as cill and plat bands. A later 19th-century projecting one-storey porch has a moulded frieze, a cornice supported by consoles, and a parapet adorned with urns. The porch has an off-centre six-panel door. There are also further single-storey wings on either side of the main structure. Inside, the house contains a significant amount of 19th-century plasterwork, and there is a circular, domed room that overlooks the garden.
