Description

A coach house and garden building, dating from circa 1780, located at the rear of No. 12 Royal Crescent. It is now used as three 20th-century garages. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar with a double-pitched roof covered in Roman tiles, set at a right angle to the street. The plan is double depth. The street facade is single storey with attics, featuring a central parapet flanked by coped gables. Two-light, two-pane casement windows are located in the attics. The garden front, which was not inspected during the listing review, exhibits chamfered rustication and includes a blind semicircular arched recess with voussoirs and a key stone, along with impost bands. A moulded pediment sits above the arch, with a die crowning the apex, and a moulded cornice and parapet extend over the remainder of the elevation. The gable end has a slate roof. The interior was not inspected.
