Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Entry Hill Cottages are a semi-detached pair of houses built in the early 19th century, possibly designed by Edward Davis. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature a slate roof. The cottages have a gabled symmetrical design with a full-width parallel range at the rear, which has a single-pitch roof and a valley gutter.
The exterior consists of two storeys, with each cottage having one window. They feature two-light casements set in narrow stone mullions, with stopped drip courses. The first floor has a central blind light that is painted in. No. 1 has plain casements, while No. 2 has small-pane casements, with the painted central light also featuring small panes. Both cottages have centrally located plank doors with very shallow transom lights, and they were formerly equipped with porches. The gables are coped and have thin deep ashlar stacks, along with a smaller central stack. At the rear, which is set against rising ground and a footpath, No. 1 has a twelve-pane sash window above the door, with additional twelve-pane sashes further along. The interiors have not been inspected.
