Description
Offington Hall Riding School is a building that likely dates from the 18th century and was originally used as stables for Offington Hall. It features a symmetrical layout with flint and brick dressings. The main range faces the street and includes a full-height rectangular passage at its center, which has a round arch at the front. There are semi-circular windows on either side of this passage, and beyond them, there are blocked barn doors to the north and south, with the south door now containing a casement window. Additional windows are present at the south end of the range, which is currently used as a dwelling, while the north end remains blank. Short wings extend from the back of the main range, creating a three-sided courtyard, and these wings have hipped roofs, with the south wing featuring a series of nearly full-height doors. A tall clock turret sits above the center of the barn, designed in three stages with a square base, pediments, tiled canted sides, and an open belfry, topped with a tall weather vane.
