Description
The Old Brewhouse is an outbuilding of the former Offington Manor, believed to date back to 1150, although the current structure is mainly from the 16th and 17th centuries. It is now situated alone amidst modern development. This oblong, two-storey building features a timber-frame construction with a box-frame design, characterized by a regular grid of vertical and horizontal timbers beneath a steep roof. The front of the building has an irregular arrangement of windows, including three casement windows on the upper floor and three on the lower floor, along with two doors. There is a small chimney on the left gable, which has a one-storey lean-to extension beyond it. At the right end, a large, very tall ridge chimney with offsets is present, accompanied by another one-storey extension under a roof that shares the same ridge height but has longer, steeper slopes, and includes two additional casement windows.
