Description
The barn and outbuildings north and east of Field Place in Goring-by-Sea are an L-shaped block, primarily dating from around 1800 but significantly altered in modern times. The north-south range features a large oblong barn constructed of flint, with full-height double-door openings in the center of each side, which are now blocked. There are double tiers of three slit windows on each side of the doorways. A casement dormer is located towards the south end of the east side, set in a pantiled roof that has a shallower slope at the bottom. There is possibly a modern clock turret above the center. The east-west range has undergone extensive modernization but mainly consists of a low, hipped pantile roof, with a modern loggia beneath a lean-to extension along the south side. The north side is finished with flint and hanging tiles, featuring several modern casement windows. All the listed buildings at Field Place are part of a group.
