Description
St Mary's Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building, likely dating from the mid-18th century, although it may have an earlier core from the 14th or 15th century. This two-storey, detached farmhouse has an oblong shape and is constructed of brick with a steep roof. The windows are largely asymmetrical, featuring two evenly arranged three-light casement windows, an additional three-light window on the ground floor to the left, and a single-light window between the two on the upper storey. The door is positioned somewhat to the right of centre, and all openings have camber-headed tops. There is a ridge chimney that may have been added to the original open hall. Elements of a three-bay timber frame are visible in the upper storey. There is a modern lean-to extension on the right side and an older one along the rear, both of which are single-storey.
St Mary's Farmhouse, along with its wall, the barn to the southwest, and the barn and outbuilding to the south, form a cohesive group.
