Description
Saint Hill Manor is a mansion built by the Crawford family in the early 18th century and altered in the early 19th century. The building has five storeys and is constructed of ashlar. The main entrance is approached from the east, featuring a plain front with five windows, a projecting central porch, and a cornice topped with a balustrade that has four urns. There are one-storey wings flanking the house to the north and south.
The garden front to the west presents a more balanced design, also three storeys high but with seven windows. The ground floor features a projecting colonnade supported by eight plain columns, with four arranged in pairs at the center and flanked by the two wings. The three central bays on the upper floors slightly project and are adorned with four square pilasters. A string course runs above the remaining first-floor windows, and the design includes a cornice, balustrade, and four urns. There is a wide terrace with descending steps leading to informal gardens.
