Description
The Old House, originally the Rectory, is located on Ashurst Church Lane. It features an early 19th-century front that is attached to an older structure. The building is two storeys high and has five windows facing south and three windows facing west. The original exterior was made of black mathematical tiles, with quoins and dressings of red mathematical tiles; however, the first floor has been refaced with red weather-tiles. It has a parapet with a wooden dentilled cornice and a hipped slate roof. The glazing bars are intact only on the first floor. The entrance includes a doorway with engaged Doric columns, a pediment, a semi-circular fanlight, and a door with six fielded panels.
