Description

The Parish Church of St James, located on Ashurst Church Lane, is primarily from the 13th century. It features a chancel that does not have a chancel arch, and it has twin naves separated by an arcade. At the west end of the south nave, there is a tower topped with a broached shingled spire. Notably, Margaret Fairless Dawson, also known as Michael Fairless, is buried in the churchyard.
