Description
The Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul is a Grade I listed building located on Pound Road in West Wittering. The church features a chancel with a south chapel, a nave with a tower at the east end of the north side, a south aisle, and a north porch. It is constructed of stone rubble and has a tiled roof. The nave dates from the 12th century, while the south aisle and Lady Chapel are from the late 12th century. The chancel and tower were built in the 13th century, and the north porch was added in the 15th century. The church underwent restoration by William White in 1875. Inside, the tower houses a bell cage from around 1500. The chancel includes two notable 15th-century tombs, a 17th-century communion rail, and stalls with two misericords.
