Description

The Studio is an early 20th-century building located on Rookwood Road in West Wittering. It is a single storey with an attic and features one window and two dormers. The structure is constructed of red brick and has a steeply pitched hipped tiled roof, with a studio light on the northeast side. Sir Henry Royce, co-founder of Rolls-Royce, used this studio from 1917 until his death in 1933, where he created many of his inventions. A bronze plaque featuring his profile is mounted on the south wall, commemorating his connection to the building; it was unveiled on 23 September 1979. The Studio is listed for its historical associations.
