Description

This is a row of six early 19th century terraced houses, numbered 8 to 13, Parchment Street. Each house has two storeys, with Nos 10 and 11 having two windows each, while the others have one. The houses are built of red brick with grey brick headers alternating in Nos 9 and 11; Nos 10, 12, and 13 are currently painted, and No 8 is rendered. A brick dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The windows are sash windows with flush boxes, and retain their original glazing bars, except for those in No 8 and the lower window of No 12. The upper windows are arranged in flat arches, while the lower windows have segmental arches constructed with rubbed brick voussoirs in Nos 9 and 11. All except No 8 have flush panelled doors, with cut-out sections and glazing. The doorways are topped with flat or pediment shaped hoods.
