Description
No. 5 Northgate is a 18th-century building that features a front design similar to No. 4, with two window bays. It has a hipped tiled roof with lead ridges. The ground floor windows, as well as the first and second floor windows, have been enlarged by incorporating recessed strips into the windows and glazing them. To the west, there is a ground floor extension that includes one window and the main door of the house. This extension has its own cornice with modillions and a parapet, although part of the parapet has been cut away to accommodate a modern window added on the first floor. The doorway is adorned with Doric pilasters, a pediment, and a semi-circular fanlight, and it features a six-panel moulded door. No. 5 is part of a group that includes Nos. 4, 5A, and 6.
