Description
This chest tomb, dating from around 1741, is located approximately 10 meters south of the south transept of the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Godalming. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a moulded plinth. The corners of the tomb are adorned with baluster-type attached columns that support a lid with a cyma and roll-moulded edge. Each side of the tomb has a raised and fielded panel, with the south side displaying a commemorative inscription that is largely illegible, except for the date of death, which is 1741. The north panel is broken.
