Description
Shepherds Down Trevorrow is a building dating from around 1913, influenced by the style of C.F.A. Voysey. Originally a single dwelling, it is two storeys high with an attic and has an irregular shape. The exterior features roughcast walls and a hipped tiled roof with deeply swept eaves. There are two flat dormers, and the left side of the building has front and back walls that curve down to enclose a garage court. On the right side, a one-storey projection with a hipped roof includes a porch in its inner angle, while to the left of this is a shaped gable end. The windows are small-paned casements of various sizes. The building is listed for its historical significance as the last home of Sir Archibald Geikie, a renowned geologist and volcanologist, during the final years of his life from 1913 to 1924.
