Description
North Munstead is a house built in the early 16th century and rebuilt around 1920 by Harold Falkner. It features a timber frame, with the ground floor clad in galleted Bargate stone block, rendered infill above at the ends, and tile hanging in the center. The roofs are plain tiled and the building has a half-H shape plan. The ends are two storeys high, while the center is one storey with attics, topped with three hipped roof leaded casement dormers. There is a ridge stack to the right of the center and additional stacks at the rear and sides. Each end wing has one three-light leaded casement window on both floors, and the center has one two-light window with shutters on either side of the ground floor. The central entrance features a Tudor style door set in a shallow break, beneath an "eyebrow" shaped course of tile hanging, with tile-on-edge imposts. The left-hand return front includes three hipped through-eaves dormers, end stacks, and a central break with a door and leaded casement windows.
