Description

The George Hawkins tomb is located in St Mary's Churchyard and is a notable chest tomb dating from the 18th century. It commemorates George Hawkins, who died in 1761. The tomb features panelled stone sides, with the long sides divided by carved fruit interlace pilasters. The end sides display round shield reliefs. At the top of the memorial tablets, there are decorative elements including a skull accompanied by scythes and a torch.
