Description
The former Bell Hotel is an 18th-century timber-framed building, with later alterations. The ground floor is stuccoed, while the first floor, which has a projecting bressumer, is faced with roughcast and features painted long and short quoins, window surrounds, and a scalloped cornice. The roof is tiled, and the first floor contains sash windows with original glazing bars, as does the attic. A carriage arch is located at the west end, revealing ceiling beams. The building is two storeys high with an attic, containing four windows and three flat-roofed dormers. It forms a group with Nos. 54 to 61 West Street.
