Description

This is an early 19th century building fronting a 17th century red brick gabled structure, known as the Dutch House. The front has been stuccoed and features a capped parapet, extending over three storeys and six windows. The roof is tiled, with chimney stacks located at the eastern end, both behind and to the left of centre. Two hipped dormers are visible above the parapet. The windows on the second storey are sash windows with original glazing bars. The first storey has tall French windows, complemented by iron balconettes at numbers 132 and 134, and also at numbers 140 and 142. The ground floor of numbers 132 and 134 contains a modern shop front, incorporating a carriage entrance at its western end. Numbers 136 and 138 have a 19th century shop front. The former Dutch House shares a similar style to the Old House in London Road, Mickleham. Numbers 132 to 156 (even) and 164 to 170 (even) form a group.
