Description
Waleys is a house dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century extensions to the right and an 18th-century extension to the left. It is timber framed and sits on a sandstone rubble plinth with brick infilling, topped with plain tiled roofs. The right extension is made of red brick, while the left remains timber framed. The house has two storeys and features outer gables, each with a square break that rises through both storeys, covered by Horsham slab pentice roofs.
There are four-light leaded casement windows on both the first and ground floors of each gable, along with a small first-floor window in the center. A multiple stack with a ribbed shaft and corbelled top is located at the center of the house. The central gabled porch, also under a Horsham slab roof, has an arched entrance and a plank door.
To the left, there is a single bay extension with a diagonal brace and one two-light leaded window on each floor. The 20th-century gable-end brick range to the right has a similar break and features an additional entrance in a porch recess that links to the older range, which has a larger wing. At the rear, there is a catslide pentice and a single-storey range to the right.
