Description
Chantesluer is a late 15th century or early 16th century jettied parlour wing of an open hall-house, which is concealed beneath a Victorian exterior. The building has two storeys, with the ground floor made of painted brick and the first floor hung with curved tiles. It features a tiled roof and three casement windows on the front elevation, along with a verandah. There is an outside chimneystack with diagonal stacks. The open hall has been floored over, and a large ingle nook hearth has been inserted, which is complemented by a moulded beam above the hearth and a moulded door head leading to the solar. The staircase is adorned with Jacobean flat fretted bannisters and a newel post.
