Description
Dawnay Cottage and Pullen Cottage are a pair of bungalows, likely built in the early 19th century, which have been enlarged and altered over time. They are constructed from white-painted brick with a red tile roof and feature brick chimneys. The buildings have a rectangular plan, originally consisting of two single-depth dwellings, but an additional unit has been added to the left end of Pullen Cottage, along with a parallel range at the rear that overlaps at the left end.
The bungalows are single storey and were originally symmetrical, with windows and porches arranged in a pattern of a-b-a-a-b-a. The gabled porches have 4-centred arched doorways, although the left porch has been altered to serve as a window. The porches also feature cusped bargeboards. All the windows are transomed and consist of six lights with honeycomb leaded glazing. The addition at the left end of Pullen Cottage includes a larger but similar window next to a modern door. The roof has two ridge chimneys aligned with the porches. The interior has not been inspected.
